Best Practices for a Greener Planet

Deodorants, cleaners & fresheners are a few of our industry's 'tools of the trade' to keep your restrooms fresh and clean. Traditional cleaners and deodorants can be harsh – for you, our employees and the environment.  

At Alpine, we use enzyme-based deodorants that meet California Wastewater Treatment standards or are certified as environmentally safe.  We never use formaldehyde- or biocide-based products common to many portables providers.

In Our Work

• Our paper products are 100% recycled. Where available, we use post-consumer content.
• We use materials – including grafitti remover, fragrances or urinal blocks – certified to be fully biodegradable and non-toxic.
• We consult with our suppliers on an ongoing basis – during visits and trade shows – to offer feedback on the success of our green vendor efforts and to encourage further development of greener solutions for our industry.
• We support and encourage efforts by our primary trade association – the Portable Sanitation Association International – to make green business a mainstream conversation in our industry.

At The Office

We recycle:

• All mixed plastics, bottles, office paper, cardboard & paperboard.
• Used motor oil, shop cleaners, paint cans, used batteries and other harsher wastes, at facilities equipped to properly recycle them.

On the Road

• We use GPS in our vehicles to maximize service route efficiencies and minimize extra miles.
• We continually evaluate advances in vehicle technology for our industry, such as solar and battery power as alternatives for powering on-board vehicle equipment.
